I have visited Main Street Station’s Garden Court Buffet so many times in the last ten years that I have lost count. I can’t remember a single Vegas trip where I haven’t visited this buffet at least once if not multiple times. The consensus of opinion from most of the Vegas-loving people I know is that this is the best downtown buffet.
Even if I only consumed nothing but a boiled egg, I would still consider this to be the best downtown buffet because I love the room it is in so much. (I never claimed to be logical). Whoever is responsible for the design of this room is a genius in my opinion. Beautiful surroundings add to my enjoyment of a meal, and this room is stunning. I find it amazing that the buffet room here is so much nicer that many of the Strip buffets that are three times more expensive. Everything from the stained glass windows to the lighting, to the ornate columns speaks of an older, more elegant time.
An important part of any dining area, but especially a buffet where you must get up and down multiple times to serve yourself, is the comfort of the seating. I swear some of the Strip buffets have the world’s hardest chairs designed to make to leave as quickly as possible (I am looking at you Mirage!). The Garden Court chairs are the ultimate in comfort; padded, stable, a good height, and easy to get in and out of.
The pricing for the Garden Court Buffet is beyond reasonable. It is so economical most people are surprised at the cost. If you have a Player’s card, you receive an additional discount.
There is a huge selection of food; something to please every palate. There is a Mexican section, an Asian section, Hawaiian specialties, fried chicken, BBQ chicken and pork selections of ribs, chops, etc. I have been there a number of times when they have turkey, so I am always pleased about that. There is an extensive salad/fresh fruit bar near the entrance. There are so many choices it is possible to make your meal as healthy or unhealthy as you please.
They also have a huge variety of desserts; basically, anything your heart desires including my favorite pecan pie. For those who have to restrict their sugar intake, there is a large selection of "no sugar added" desserts. Do acquaint yourself with their times as they close for a short while between meals to set up for the next session.
If you are looking for an affordable, tasty meal in gorgeous surroundings, be sure to visit Garden Court Buffet.
